An incredibly rare and sophisticated set of dining chairs by Michael Taylor for Baker Furniture Company, circa 1957. There are two (2) host and six (6) side chairs. Taylor’s striking crisp modern form gives a clear nod to the seating designs that were being produced by Edward Wormley for Dunbar during the same time period. Stout, expertly crafted and comfortable – designed for heavy regular use. Serious chairs intended to anchor a serious dining room. Excellent Restored Condition. The set has undergone a complete meticulous professional restoration in black lacquer. New expert custom upholstery in a neutral Romo fabric. The host chairs measure (in inches): 22 W x 21 D x 32 H x 26.25 arm; 19.5 seat height. Measurements noted are per the side chairs. Retains the Maker mark. Expert custom upholstery service is available.
