Spectacular Restored Buffet or Credenza in Cream by Renzo Rutili, circa 1960

Renzo Rutili was a seminal furniture designer of the 20th century who is sometimes overlooked in retrospect. Much of his work is more sophisticated, cutting edge and downright fabulous than any produced during his era. This Johnson Furniture Company cabinet is a mesmerizing example of this Gentleman’s awesome talent. Research can find comparable to this particular buffet. Exceptionally crafted solid mahogany case construction with details in solid brass, atop solid brass feet. Sliding gold leaf panel doors behind a solid brass grate. Corinthian column accents, with cast capitals in solid brass, frame the case front. The piece is equally stunning when the doors are in the retracted position, exposing the center bank of drawers, also marked with chunky solid brass hardware. A truly magnificent and unique work of art. This item is in current restoration. Excellent restored condition. The case has been professionally cleaned and meticulously restored in cream lacquer. All hardware and case detail have been professionally cleaned and polished. The brass demonstrates wonderful patina. The matching dining table and set of eight (8) dining chairs are available is separate listings. Retains the maker mark. For change of lacquer color, please add $1200.
