Mr. Rutili was a seminal furniture designer of the 20th century who is sometimes overlooked in retrospect. Much of his work is more sophisticated, cutting edge and downright fabulous than any produced during his era. This Johnson Furniture Company chest is a mesmerizing example of this Gentleman’s awesome talent. Research can find no comparable to this particular case. Exceptionally crafted solid mahogany construction with accents in solid brass. Fabulous brass over bronze hardware mark the drawers. This is a piece designed to anchor and important space. Excellent restored condition. The case has been professionally cleaned and meticulously restored in cream lacquer. All hardware and case detail have been professionally cleaned and polished.
