$22,000
A beautiful example from a rare series by American of Martinsville, circa 1950. Stout, expertly made mahogany case construction finished in cream lacquer. Fabulous wormhole detail on the drawer front adds an element of texture. The A of M designers were always cognizant of great furniture being produced by rival manufacturers. Here, the influence of both George Nakashima and Paul Laszlo are evident. While the piece will integrate seamlessly into a modern setting, it is particularly interesting when juxtaposed against a traditional backdrop. Excellent restored condition. Professionally cleaned and re-lacquered. Retains the maker mark. For change of lacquer color, please add $1000. There are two of these chests available. The price listed is for one-piece.
