The rarest of the rare: an exceptional, meticulously restored set of ten (10) modern cane dining chairs by the esteemed Michael Taylor for Baker Furniture, circa 1960. A set of this size of these difficult to find seating examples is the collector’s equivalent of capturing a Purple Unicorn. Expertly crafted solid cherry construction with stellar lines and detail. Artistry and execution that is beyond incredible. Finished in a dark walnut stain – aged to absolute perfection. Beautiful cane panel inset back. Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful, rare and coveted chair designs of the 20th century. Important chairs intended to anchor an important dining room. Excellent Restored Condition. The chairs have undergone meticulous complete professional restoration. The cherry demonstrates stunning warmth, depth and luster. All cane has been replaced. Sturdy, stout and comfortable; intended for heavy regular use. The set is completely installation ready. There are two (2) host and eight (8) side chairs. The host chairs measure: 21 inches wide (seat), 22.5 inches wide (arm), 23 inches wide (front legs), 35 inches high (back), 21 inches deep, 20 inch seat height, 25.25 inch (arm height).
