An absolutely Jaw-Dropping pristine pair of large-scale ceramic lamps by the esteemed California artist Marc Bellaire (1925-1994). Each piece displays the Maker’s signature. Mr. Bellaire’s figure examples are recognized and coveted because of their striking flamboyance, execution and quality. Craftsmanship and design detail that is beyond incredible. Research can find no comps for a surviving pair of Male and Female examples from this particular production. Investment caliber sculpture specifically intended to serve as the focal point of an important space. Art designed to establish the tone for a home. Excellent Restored Condition. Rewired using silk cord; new brass three-way sockets with brass pull chains. Complete with new custom silk shades (color: Black; size: 10 x 16, 14 x 20, 13 inches high) and custom solid brass finials. The original mahogany free-form bases have been professionally cleaned and polished; they demonstrate a fabulous color, depth and luster. The base measurements are: Male: 17 W x 9.5 D; Female: 14 W x 10 D. Measurements noted below are per the larger (Male) lamp. The height noted is to the top of the finial. Retains the Maker mark.
